  19. Originally designed by Xerox in 1976.  It is a high-speed comm- munications medium that allows information to travel over the network at up to 10meg/sec.  In its simplest form Ether-net is configured as a bus.  This standard is an integral part of the the ISO model and the backbone (or bridge) for other networks - Ethertalk (Apple's high speed alternative to Apple-Talk);DECnet;TCP/IP;XNS.
